Water-soluble support material PrimaSELECT PVA HT

PrimaSELECT™ PVA HT (Polyvinyl alcohol) is a water-soluble material most commonly used as a support material. This filament allows for the additive manufacturing of highly complex components. PVA HT is translucent with a slight yellow tint. PVA HT filament is often processed on 3D printers with dual extruders. One extruder 3D prints a primary material (such as ABS or PLA), while the second filament is this easily soluble material that creates a support structure for overhanging parts of the object.

Key material properties of PrimaSELECT PVA HT:

  • Support material for 3D prints with dual extruders
  • Water-soluble material
  • Suitable for high-temperature materials such as ABS, ASA, TPUs, and more
  • Meets the highest quality standards

Using PVA HT with high-temperature materials:
PrimaSELECT PVA HT is processed at a higher 3D printer temperature than our PVA+. This makes it suitable for materials like ABS, ASA, TPUs, and other high-temperature printing materials. It also works well on 3D printers with heated chambers.

Support material for ABS and PETG:
PrimaSELECT PVA HT is the perfect support material for ABS and PETG, as it is soluble in water. With this material, you can create very complex prints, for example, when you need a 3D print that should be hollow. Print it with a dual extruder, and then simply place the finished 3D print in water and watch the support material dissolve.

Dissolving PVA HT:
The best results are achieved when using lukewarm water and allowing the water to circulate.

Use it with a heated print bed:
For 3D printing with PrimaSELECT PVA HT, we recommend using a heated print bed. Set the heating bed to ± 80-90˚C for optimal results. PrimaSELECT PVA HT adheres well to the build surface.
