Powercolor Red Devil Radeon RX Vega 56
8 GB, HBM 1Product details
The PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Red Devil is a true high-end graphics card for gamers, equipped with many gaming-specific features. It is ideal for gaming in 4K resolution and also enables immersion in virtual reality (VR). For gamers, Radeon RX Vega graphics cards are particularly interesting when combined with a FreeSync monitor, as this combination delivers smooth images without tearing effects. Like the reference design, PowerColor relies on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) in the second generation of this revolutionary fast memory.
The 8 GB HBM2 memory operates at 800 MHz and is connected to the graphics chip (GPU) via a 2048-bit memory interface. One of the special features of HBM memory is its placement directly on the GPU die (i.e., within the graphics chip) rather than on the PCB as is customary. The graphics chip itself can boost up to 1,526 MHz when needed in the PowerColor Radeon RX Vega 56 Red Devil. The graphics card features a BIOS switch that allows for three different BIOS versions to be set for silent, standard, and overclocked operation. This changes the clock rates of the GPU and the fan speed ranges, with the fans able to turn off completely in silent mode under low load.
The better the graphics chip is cooled, the longer it can maintain the boost clock. Therefore, the cooling of the graphics card employs a semi-passive cooler design, consisting of multiple heat pipes, two large aluminum fin cooling blocks, and three large fans. The fans are double ball-bearing, resulting in smoother operation at higher effective speeds and longer durability. The already mounted backplate provides increased stability for the PCB, and the LED lighting makes the Red Devil logo on the cooler cover glow red.
