Pentel was founded in 1946 as "The Japan Stationary Corporation" in war-torn Japan and initially concentrated on the production of watercolour and oil paints as well as drawing pencils for kindergartens and schools. The company's own research and development laboratory is responsible for numerous achievements in the world of writing and painting products.
