PEI Ultem Durable Printing Sheet 220x220mm 0.4mm with 3M 468MP Adhesive Tape
PEI (Polyetherimide), also known as Ultem, provides a 3D printing surface that does not require blue tape, ABS slurry, or any other adhesive. ABS and PLA adhere very well to the surface, eliminating the need for a raft for better adhesion. The printed 3D parts stick to the PEI surface on a heated bed. When it cools down, the parts release themselves.
The PEI sheet is excellent for printing with ABS and PLA (and many other materials) directly on the print surface without additional adhesives. The 0.4mm film can be quickly applied to your existing print bed using the 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape. Laminate your PEI sheet with the 3M 468MP Adhesive Transfer Tape onto your existing print bed. Please note that 3M 468MP is a very strong adhesive material that should be applied carefully to avoid air bubbles.
Once you have adhered your PEI film to your print bed, re-level the print bed and you're ready to go. PLA does not require heat, but a heated bed at 45°C helps. After the print is complete, simply let the plate cool down and the model will release with a gentle sound from the plate.
Before each print, wipe your PEI surface with 70-91% isopropyl alcohol to ensure that any grease or other residues that have accumulated on the surface are removed. This will help significantly increase your surface adhesion. Use isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, or soap to clean your PEI after use. In other words, PEI can be cleaned using isopropyl alcohol, which theoretically supports adhesion when it is lost.
