The name eneloop remains. However, the new eneloop prominently features the Panasonic brand name instead of Sanyo. The new eneloop has improved in terms of cycle count, now offering up to 2100 recharges. The key advantage of Panasonic eneloop batteries is their low self-discharge rate. Charged today, the eneloop retains up to 70% of its charged capacity even after 5 years. Gone are the days of constantly empty AA batteries.
