The so-called Sub-C battery is a standardized size for batteries. A Sub-C type cell is typically exactly 23 x 43 mm in size, thus having a larger volume than the longer AA cell (Mignon), but slightly less than a C cell (Baby). Sub-C cells are rarely used individually in devices. This size is mostly applied as NiCd or NiMH batteries in battery packs in the field of RC modeling, but also often in power tools such as cordless drills or electric household appliances, like handheld vacuum cleaners, gardening tools, etc. Rarely, they are also found in flashlights. For self-assembly or replacement, they are often sold with welded solder tabs.
