Pressure equalization tanks hold a reservoir of air. The air acts like a cushion, absorbing pump and pressure fluctuations while balancing pressure and flow. This makes the pressurized water system quieter. Pressure equalization tanks allow the pump to reach the shut-off pressure more smoothly, reducing the number of on/off cycles. Thus, the pressure equalization tank prevents the typical banging and rattling of the pressure water pump when the faucet is only partially open. In the hot water sector, pressure fluctuations caused by heating cycles are balanced out. Ideal for boats and motorhomes.
