Your amiibo, your hero! When you touch the NFC contact point of the Wii U GamePad, New Nintendo 3DS, or New Nintendo 3DS XL, as well as the Nintendo Switch, with an amiibo figure in a compatible game, you can discover surprising new features.

Amiibo have different effects depending on the game: you can unlock new modes, weapons, or character customizations, or enhance the abilities of your amiibo figure to make it a perfect partner or strong opponent. Additionally, the data of your figure is updated while playing, making your amiibo unique!

An amiibo figure can be used in multiple games, taking your favorite titles to a whole new level of enjoyment. Even if you have saved game data from, for example, Super Smash Bros. on your amiibo figure, you can use it to unlock content in Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, and other titles. In some games, it is possible to read specific data from an amiibo figure and save it. In other games, you can only read data from an amiibo. For instance, when you touch the NFC contact point with an amiibo, you can bring that character or some of its traits into the game.
