Via the Internet you can compete against players from all over the world. Up to 12 players will compete in each of the online races. With a Nintendo Switch console, even two players can participate locally from the same console. In addition to Mario, Luigi, Peach and other popular characters from the Super Mario universe, new and returning racers such as King Buu Huu, Bonentrocken and Bowser Jr. will be added. Even the Inklinge from "Splatoon" do not miss this racing fun. If you have chosen a racing driver, you can choose a vehicle and equip it with different tyres, a different chassis and a different glider before the race starts. Race hot on land, underwater, in the air and on walls and ceilings on 48 tracks. All the tracks (and characters.) from Mario Kart 8 on Wii U will also be included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as well as previously released download tracks inspired by The Lgend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Excitebike and more. You can choose from five different speed classes, including the 150cc mirrored Grand Prix and the ultra-fast 200cc Grand Prix. You're new to Mario Kart? Then activate the Smart Controls to stay on track as you slowly become more comfortable with the controls. You can now hold up to two items at a time, making new strategies possible in battles and races. In addition to well-known items such as bananas, turbo mushrooms and the infamous Stachi tank, two new items from previous "Mario Kart" games are returning: Buu Huu makes you invisible and allows you to steal other players' items, while the feather lets you dodge enemy attacks by jumping. The newly revised Battle Mode offers many different ways to face your rivals. Cause chaos in the classic Balloon Battle, Bob-omb Throw, Coin Hunter and Insignia Theft modes or plunge into the all-new Robber and Gendarme mode.
