Nikon

The world’s first telephoto zoom lens¹ with a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 and a built-in teleconverter. It delivers consistently superb images of those
crucial moments.

FOCAL LENGTH RANGE OF 120–420 MM, BUILT-IN 1.4X TELECONVERTER: Image quality is comparable to that of a fixed-focal-length lens, even when the teleconverter is engaged. A focal length of up to 420 mm is immediately available when required.

OUTSTANDING IMAGE QUALITY, CAPTIVATING DETAIL: The high-quality optics of the
S-Line ensure clear, high-contrast images, even in bright sunlight or under bright artificial lighting.

CONSTANT APERTURE OF f/2.8, UP TO 6.5 STOPPES² OF INTEGRATED IMAGE STABILISATION (VR): Capture action, highlight subjects against a soft bokeh background, and take razor-sharp, clear and detailed
images at lower ISO sensitivities.

IMPRESSIVE AUTOFOCUS: A new level of precision thanks to the multi-focusing
system featuring Nikon’s Silky Swift voice coil motor. A new control algorithm that keeps pace with the highest continuous shooting speeds.

LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN PREVENTS FATIGUE AND WEIGHT CONSTRAINTS:
This fast telephoto zoom lens weighs approx. 2735 g and fits into hand luggage in accordance with
international standards.

CUSTOMISABLE: The adjustment ring can also be used as a focusing ring, and functions can be assigned to the two function buttons (L-Fn) or the Fn ring.

INTERNAL ZOOM: The centre of gravity remains constant, ensuring
more balanced handling when zooming.

HIGH-QUALITY SEALING: Keeps out dust, dirt and moisture.
A fluorine coating makes cleaning the front lens easier.3

DESIGNED FOR PROFESSIONALS: Thanks to Arca-Swiss4 compatibility, the lens can be quickly removed from a tripod; both front-screw-in and rear-slot filters are supported, and the distinctive yellow ring remains visible even when the lens hood is fitted.

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
