The cover is made of sturdy cardboard with visible thread stitching and features an inner pocket for loose notes. The last 16 pages are detachable. This 3-pack is available in various sizes and colors. The name is attributed to the British writer Bruce Chatwin, who favored the simple black notebooks from a French paper manufacturer in Tours for his work, affectionately calling them Moleskin. In 1997, the anonymous notebook, which had been a carrier of sketches and stories for many artists and intellectuals, was revived by a Milanese publisher who chose the literature-inspired name Moleskine.
