This MK8 nozzle from Micro Swiss is made of M2 (1.3343) steel and has been additionally nickel-plated without electricity and coated with a WS2 layer. WS2 is a tungsten disulfide coating that possesses excellent friction properties, reducing the friction coefficient compared to conventional PVD coatings by a factor of 10. The M2 steel has been hardened and tempered to 68 HRC. The nozzle allows for printing at extremely high temperatures of up to 450 °C without loss of hardness. The nickel coating has a hardness of 70-73 HRC and enables printing with highly abrasive materials such as ePAHT-CF nylon-carbon, wood, or glow-in-the-dark filaments.
