All-metal hotend nozzle with improved ribbed cooling block. Includes TwinClad XT nozzle 0.4 mm. This is a newly designed cooling block for the Wanhao Duplicator 6 with the following improvements: slotted clamping system, no set screw to dent and damage the thermal tube, significantly better heat transfer, easier disassembly and adjustment, as well as strict control of the bore diameter. This upgrade includes a modified thermal insulation tube and a modified nozzle with a modified cooling block. The heat break tube is made from two different materials. The lower heat break is made of stainless steel, while the cooler upper part is made of aluminum. Stainless steel was used for thermal separation because it offers low thermal conductivity, and aluminum was used for the upper part because it has much better thermal conductivity to dissipate any heat from the filament. With an all-metal hotend, you can print at much higher temperatures than possible with the original PTFE-lined version. Another advantage of an all-metal hotend design is more consistent melt chamber control. During slow extrusion speeds, the transition zone from solid to molten plastic in a PTFE-lined hotend tends to creep upward, resulting in stringier prints. In an all-metal design, the transition zone is always constant, as it is located directly at the heat break. At higher extrusion speeds, the PTFE tube does not have sufficient thermal conductivity to properly melt all the exiting plastic. In the original extruders, this limitation occurs at 60 mm/s, depending on the nozzle size. The all-metal hotend solves this problem, as the plastic is surrounded by a thermally conductive nozzle along its entire length.
