CAT7 cables are faster network cables than CAT6a. They provide a convenient and reliable connection from one network device, such as a switch, modem, or router, to another or to the overall infrastructure via a patch panel, keystone jack, or wall outlet. The cables are tested up to 600 MHz (CAT7 standard) but are manufactured with CAT6a connectors that meet the minimum standard of up to 500 MHz and are backward compatible with CAT6a, CAT6, CAT5e, and CAT5 cables.
