MicroSwiss All metal hotend with slotted cooling block

This is the Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend Kit with a newly optimized cooling block for your Wanhao i3, featuring the following improvements: slotted clamping system, no adjustment screw on the wall, and damage to the thermal tube, significantly better heat transfer, easier removal and adjustment, and strict control of the hole diameter.

All-metal hotend upgrade for MK10 extruders. This upgrade includes a modified thermal insulation tube and an optimized nozzle with a modified cooling block. The thermal insulation tube is made from two different materials. The lower thermal barrier is made of stainless steel, while the cooler upper part is made of aluminum. Stainless steel is used for thermal separation because it offers low thermal conductivity.

Aluminum is used for the upper part because it has much better thermal conductivity to dissipate any heat from the filament. The all-metal hotend allows you to print at much higher temperatures than is possible with the original PTFE-lined hotend. Another advantage of an all-metal hotend design is more consistent melt chamber regulation. During slow extrusion speeds, the transition zone from solid to melted plastic tends to creep upward, leading to stringier prints.

In all-metal designs, the transition zone is always constant and located directly at the heat break. At high extrusion rates, the PTFE tube does not have sufficient thermal conductivity to properly melt all the exiting plastic. For MK10 extruders, this limitation occurs at around 60 mm/s, depending on the nozzle size. The all-metal hotend solves this problem. The plastic is surrounded by a thermally conductive nozzle along its entire length.
