Every filament color is extensively tested for quality, both at 100-micron and 200-micron layer resolutions on the MakerBot Replicator 2, to ensure that the filament meets all the functionalities provided by MakerBot MakerWare and MakerBot Desktop software. If you are new to 3D printing, MakerBot PLA filament is a great material to start with, as it is easy to use and works well for most prints.

MakerBot PLA filament adheres well to acrylic and MakerBot Build Plate Tape. Prints with a large bottom layer may tend to warp. To prevent warping, use rafts. Store MakerBot PLA filament in a cool, dry place, as it can absorb moisture from the air, and long-term exposure to moisture can affect the quality and performance of the filament.

Make sure your build plate is level, clean, and oil-free before you start printing.
