VL45 Radiohus Pendant Light by Louis Poulsen
The VL45 Radiohus pendant light was originally designed in 1945 by architects Vilhelm Lauritzen and Louis Poulsen for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation building in Frederiksberg, which now houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music. This light is now being produced as a reissue in the original 1950s design with state-of-the-art lighting technology. The Radiohus chandelier consists of three layers of mouth-blown glass: a clear, transparent inner layer, a white middle layer, and an outer layer of clear glass.
Vilhelm Lauritzen's Design for the VL45 Radiohus Pendant Light
The design of the VL45 Radiohus pendant light by Vilhelm Lauritzen is characterized by a uniform and soft light created by the multiple layers of glass. The lower opening allows for individual focusing of the light downward, depending on the hanging height. This enables the light to be mounted high for even illumination or low for concentrated lighting. As a lighting manufacturer with a founding history dating back to 1874, Louis Poulsen represents the duality of design and lighting. Every detail of the VL45 Radiohus pendant light design serves a specific purpose, and the design concept revolves around light. Louis Poulsen offers a wide range of lighting options for both indoor and outdoor use, catering to both professional and private needs.
