Louis Poulsen PH 80 Floor lamp On/Off switch White Opal/Chrome Plated

The floor lamp emits a uniform and diffuse light that is primarily directed downward. The shades made of opal acrylic give the light a pleasant softness. At the same time, the reddish hue of the upper reflector part provides a warm glow. The design is based on Poul Henningsen's celebrated three-shade system, which he created in 1925 to achieve glare-free lighting. Henningsen pursued a distinct scientific approach to lighting and designed additional pieces based on this system. With the three-shade system based on the Lituus curve, he achieved an even light distribution that counteracted glare and shadow casting. The PH 80 was created in 1974 in honor of Poul Henningsen's 80th birthday, which is also reflected in the name of the floor lamp.
