The Danish designer was inspired by a trip to Tivoli in Copenhagen, where colorful balloons and cotton candy, delightful old carousels, and shimmering fortune wheels swirl cheerful colors into stripes. Louis Poulsen offers the unusual shape, reminiscent of a circus tent and a droplet, in three sizes: All the fixtures, painted white on the inside, reflect the light of a user-selected and possibly externally dimmable bulb, yet they seem to direct the light more or less straight down to illuminate a table, counter, reading, or workspace.
