The distinctive feature of the AJ Wall Lamp is its unusual, swiveling and rotating lampshade, whose asymmetrical shape distributes light in an appealing manner. The shade has been enlarged to ensure better task lighting. The angle of the tapering metal shade has been carefully matched to the angle of the base to achieve optimal optical correction. The inside of the shade is coated with matte white enamel, effectively concealing the light source. Clear bulbs are recommended to enjoy the light of the AJ Wall Lamp in its full clarity.

Designer Arne Jacobsen for the AJ Wall Lamp

The AJ Wall Lamp was designed by the renowned Danish design legend Arne Jacobsen specifically for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which opened in 1960. Jacobsen was responsible not only for the building design but also for the complete interior design, including furniture, tableware, textiles, and lighting, making the hotel one of the first design hotels in the world.
