The LMP optical Thunderbolt 3 cable utilizes the latest Thunderbolt technology to ensure high responsiveness for data and video/audio transmission at speeds of up to 40 Gbit/s bidirectionally and without bandwidth sharing between ports. This active optical cable can be used for daisy-chaining multiple Thunderbolt devices; it transmits PCI Express as well as DisplayPort (DP Altmode) protocols. It offers low latency with high-precision time synchronization for professional audio and video applications. The LMP Thunderbolt 3 optical cable features a USB-C connector, supports 2-lane operation, and Thunderbolt 3 full-duplex operation. The typical power consumption is 900 mW at an operating voltage of 5 V. It can operate at temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 °C (ambient). Power Delivery over the optical cable is not possible; USB-C (USB) protocol is not supported.
