Product details
The Lindy Cat.6 DVI-D KVM Extender allows the user to control a source device, such as a PC, from up to 140 metres away using a single keyboard, mouse, and display via a Cat.6 RJ45 cable connection. It supports DVI single-link resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDMI signals including Full HD 1080p, 3D, and HDCP 1.4. The extender consists of a transmitter and a receiver unit. The transmitter connects to the source, such as a PC or KVM switch, via a DVI and a USB cable. The console, which includes the display, keyboard, and mouse, is connected to the receiver in the same manner. It is also possible to connect additional USB 2.0 devices such as flash drives and hard drives (webcams are not supported).
The built-in EDID function of the extender ensures maximum compatibility with the display or projector at the receiver or even at the loop-out DVI port of the transmitter. Analogue 3.5mm audio inputs and outputs allow for the separate connection of speakers, microphones, or a line-in audio source.
With bidirectional IR ports on both sides of the setup, the source device can be seamlessly controlled from the display side. Conversely, control of the display from the DVI source device is also possible. RS-232 ports further enable integration into pre-installed control systems.
The extender offers a simple plug-and-play installation, requiring no additional drivers, making it ideal for both professionals and first-time users alike. In addition to point-to-point applications, it can also be used over a Gigabit network. Using a rotary switch on both device components, one of 16 channels can be selected for pairing transmitters.
