These cables are designed for operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz. They are used for signal transmission with high data transfer rates of 1 Gbps. Due to the high signal frequencies, careful installation and assembly are particularly important, especially at the connection points of the conductors. The individual pairs of wires in Cat6 cables are twisted with varying tightness, which reduces susceptibility to interference even more than Cat5e.
