The wires made of 100% copper are double-shielded. A wire is a conductor made up of many thin individual strands, making it flexible. Additionally, it has high tensile strength. The cable also features strain relief. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is therefore excluded. Another advantage is that the exposure to toxic gases (such as hydrogen chloride gas in PVC) is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit a dangerous ignition cord effect. Furthermore, halogen-free cables produce minimal smoke in the event of a fire.
