With the Rugged Mini, you benefit from the speed of USB 3.0 and full backward compatibility with USB 2.0, meaning you can use it with almost any computer. With USB 3.0, you can transfer a 700 MB video file in less than 7 seconds. In comparison, this takes 25 seconds with USB 2.0. To enhance the data transfer rate on your Mac, you can use the LaCie USB 3.0 driver for Mac.
