Reduced carbohydrates in rice: The rice cooker features a low carb program to reduce carbohydrate content and thus minimize calorie intake. This innovative technology separates the rice from a portion of the cooking water, which is rich in starch, and is suitable for most white rice varieties. During cooking, some of the starch (carbohydrates) is diluted with the cooking water and collected in a special catch tray. The rice is then finished in steam mode, which further reduces calorie intake.
