Product details

XTS AES 256-bit encryption for data protection with automatic USB-to-cloud backup. Kingston IronKey Locker+ 50 USB drives provide consumer-level security with AES hardware encryption in XTS mode, including safeguards against BadUSB with digitally signed firmware and brute-force password attacks. The LP50 is also TAA compliant.

The LP50 now supports the multi-password option (Admin and User) with complex or passphrase modes. In complex mode, passwords of 6 to 16 characters using 3 of 4 character sets are allowed. The new passphrase mode allows a numeric PIN, a phrase, a word list, or even text with a length of 10 to 64 characters. The administrator can enable a user password or reset the user password to restore data access. To facilitate password entry, the "eye" icon can be activated to display the entered password.

... After successful activation, the stick achieves a maximum of 165 MByte/s for reading, 145 MByte/s for writing, and the write rate drops to a meagre 3 MByte/s with many small files - but this is similar with other sticks. If you want to have your data not only locally but also in the cloud, you can install the enclosed synchronisation software; this then takes up corresponding space in Dropbox & Co...
