The BopPad by Keith McMillen Instruments is a portable electronic drum pad designed for drummers, percussionists, and producers. It accurately detects hits (with a latency of under 3 milliseconds!), velocity, position, and pressure sensitivity, which are converted into controller data. It features four independently programmable zones that can be assigned a variety of sounds. For example, you can make the BopPad sound like a traditional drum by assigning just one sound to the entire surface. Alternatively, you can easily create a classic drum kit by assigning each zone to the desired sound (e.g., kick, snare, hat, tom). Connection is made via a micro-USB cable to a computer, tablet, or MIDI expander.
