The iRig PRE offers you maximum flexibility for mobile recording with your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, allowing you to connect all types of microphones, from standard dynamic stage types to professional studio-quality condensers, providing you with an extremely wide range of options.

iRig PRE is the first high-quality microphone preamp specifically designed for iOS devices, enabling musicians to use their favorite microphones for stage or studio with their iOS device. You simply connect your favorite microphone directly to the standard XLR input of the iRig PRE without needing additional cables or adapters.

The adjustable gain control allows the user to easily make precise level adjustments. The built-in 9V battery provides the necessary voltage for phantom-powered studio condenser microphones, enabling up to 15 hours of continuous operation. The 3.5 mm (1/8") standard stereo headphone output allows for monitoring during recording, and the lightweight housing features a convenient cable for connecting to an iOS device. The iRig PRE also includes a Velcro strip slot for easy mounting on a microphone stand or other stage positions.

Like all other IK Multimedia microphones, it comes with two free apps: iRig Recorder (an easy-to-use recording/editing app) and VocaLive (an effects processing app for singers). And like the entire iRig accessory line, it is very portable for recording anywhere, thanks to its pocket-sized form factor.
