The Huawei MateView GT is a gaming monitor that impresses with its extras in the test - especially the stereo soundbar integrated into the stand. Furthermore, the screen offers interesting features for action-packed multiplayer games and has a USB-C port with docking qualities. The picture quality of the 34-inch curved is without highlights compared to the equipment, but it is not bad in any area either...

The biggest stumbling block for the success of Huawei's gaming debut might be the price: many of the established brands offer something similar for less than the 500 euros that are due in online retail and are more familiar to buyers. However, Huawei does a lot right with its gaming debut: the MateView GT is chic, well equipped and shows a nice picture...

The MateView GT offers good features and picture quality at a fair price. Its VA panel scores with short switching times and excellent contrast. It is not quite enough for the highest demands.

Thanks to the high refresh rate, crisp resolution and fast response time, gaming on the super-wide MateView GT is really fun. However, Huawei could have done without the sound bar. It may look smart, but it doesn't bring the sound opulence to the big picture. Separate PC speakers or a gaming headset are needed for loud sound.
