HPE StoreEver LTO Ultrium tape drives encompass nine generations of Linear Tape Open (LTO) tape drive technology, capable of storing 45 TB per cartridge. They offer hardware-based data encryption and HPE StoreOpen with Linear Tape File System (LTFS) for user-friendliness and outstanding performance. The hardware encryption of data with AES 256-bit provides easily activated security to protect particularly sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access to tape cartridges. LTFS is an open format for storing data on tape, making tapes from LTO generation 5 and higher self-describing and file-based. The exclusive data rate tuning feature supports native data transfer rates of up to 300 MB/s and further optimizes performance by adapting to the speed of the host system—ensuring uninterrupted drive streaming and enhancing tape performance.
