HiBy FC5

The HiBy FC5 is a compact and powerful USB digital-to-analog converter with an integrated headphone amplifier that combines audiophile technology with elegant design. Equipped with two CS43198 DAC chips, the device allows for lossless playback of Hi-Res audio up to 32 Bit/768 kHz PCM and DSD512. It also supports full 8x MQA unfolding, enabling users to access master-quality audio on the go. Depending on the model, two SGM8261-5 amplifiers are used, providing powerful, low-distortion signal amplification of up to 245 mW per channel. The balanced 4.4 mm headphone output ensures maximum sound fidelity for balanced headphones, while a 3.5 mm headphone output allows for the connection of a wide range of unbalanced headphones. A central feature is the 1.1-inch OLED color display, which provides real-time information on sample rate, volume, and MQA status. The casing combines aluminum with transparent polycarbonate elements in a so-called cyborg design, revealing the internal circuitry. Weighing only 21 grams, this highly developed device is extremely portable yet robustly built. The FC5 is fully plug-and-play compatible with Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS, requiring no driver installation. Control is conveniently managed through physical volume buttons on the device. Sonically, it impresses with a neutral, detailed sound profile, a wide soundstage, and low distortion.
