Infrared Filter IR720 for Filter Diameter 105mm

Infrared photography, or IR photography, is fundamentally different as it occurs outside the visible spectrum for humans. Only the sensor in the camera "translates" the invisible image into a visible one. There is no single type of infrared photography; many variations are possible depending on the filter used. This specific infrared filter (also known as a black filter because it appears almost opaque to the human eye) is necessary to block visible light, as only then can an infrared photo be created.

An infrared filter opens the door to creativity. This filter blocks visible light up to a certain spectral range of 720 nm, allowing long-wave radiation, which is invisible to the human eye, to pass through. This results in stunning images.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Multi-layer coating
  • Black aluminum frame
  • Black-edged glass
  • Slim and knurled filter frame
  • UV-protected filter boxes

Tip for IR photography:
Screw the filter onto the lens. Set the camera to ISO 400. Take a shot of a green area and use this for a manual white balance. Choose a longer exposure time for your shots and use a tripod.

Suitable for:
Lenses with a filter diameter of 105mm
