Robert Dudley Best - BL6 Wall Lamp

The BL lighting collection can be categorized under the Bauhaus style. The original design is by Robert Dudley Best (1892 - 1984), an English industrial designer and heir to Best and Lloyd. The BL1 table lamp was designed before 1930 and is considered the first Bauhaus design in the UK. Originally used in workshops and by the RAF, it later found a place on Winston Churchill's desk. Robert Dudley Best expanded the production to include a range of BL floor lamps, table lamps, wall lamps, and pendant lamps. In 2004, the Danish manufacturer Gubi acquired the international production and distribution rights.
