The halogen-free Cat. 8.1 patch cable with a slim latch protection is capable of up to 40 Gigabits, making it suitable for demanding network connections.

The Cat. 8.1 technology offers a range of improvements over previous copper-based network solutions. Data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s are often no longer sufficient. Faster fiber optic solutions are unsuitable for widespread use due to their high costs. Cat. 8.1 patch cables are also suitable for 25 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s Base-T Ethernet networks, eliminating the need to combine multiple 10 Gbit/s Base-T links into a single logical connection. This reduces the number of ports and thus space required, both of which are valuable in data centers. The maximum bandwidth has also increased to 2000 MHz / 2 GHz.

The conductor of this patch cable is made of 99.99% oxygen-free copper (OFC). This high-quality cable construction allows for optimal signal transmission and greater tensile strength of the cable. For flawless signal transmission, the RJ45 connectors are shielded and equipped with 50 µ gold-plated copper contacts.

The S/FTP shielding (PiMF) of the cable and the shielded RJ45 connectors ensure consistently high and lossless signal transmission.

The Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable jacket produces very low toxic smoke gases and minimal smoke development in case of fire, unlike PVC cables. This makes the cables ideal for indoor installation - they are required in public areas.

The Cat. 8.1 patch cables are fully backward compatible with previous versions featuring RJ45 connectors, allowing for easy integration into existing installations.
