The fixed focal length of the XF lens series features a high light intensity of F1.2 and a focal length of 56 mm (85 mm equivalent to full-frame). Like all other lenses in the XF series, the "XF 56mm F1.2 R APD" has been developed with impressive attention to detail. It feels very comfortable in hand, and the materials used, such as the metal aperture ring, emphasize the premium quality of the lens. Lenses with an apodization filter previously only had manual focus. With the "FUJINON XF 56mm F1.2 R APD," thanks to the X-mount, the use of contrast autofocus is possible.

For the first time, the "XF56mm F1.2 R APD" now also offers a lens with an apodization filter that provides fast and precise autofocus. The "XF56mm F1.2 R APD" consists of eleven elements in eight groups, including two ED lenses and one aspherical lens. All optical elements are made entirely of glass (including the aspherical lens) and are coated with FUJINON's special "HT-EBC coating" to minimize surface reflections. It also features seven aperture blades that create an almost circular aperture opening.
