The Kånken was developed in 1978 to prevent back problems in Swedish schoolchildren and quickly became a common sight in preschools and nature schools across the country. Today, 35 years later, the Kånken has straightened millions of backs around the world and has become one of Fjällräven's most popular products. This classic backpack is equally suitable for the journey to school or work as well as for trekking and traveling. The material is a durable, lightweight Vinylon F fabric that withstands dirt and moisture. The spacious main compartment features a large zip opening that makes packing and unpacking easy. It has two flat side pockets and a zippered pocket on the front, perfect for small items you want to keep handy. The included PE foam seat cushion is stored in the inner pocket on the back, preventing the contents of the backpack from pressing against your back – and is always within reach when you want to take a break and sit down wherever you are. The carrying system is simple yet practical, consisting of handles on the top and narrow, adjustable shoulder straps. The logo on the front is reflective.
