The goal of developing UltraChrome pigment ink was to combine the properties of long-term and short-term color stability of pigment inks with the color gamut of dye inks. This new ink system includes Light Black as a seventh color, allowing for smoother gradations in black and white printing, as well as two types of black ink, Matte and Photo, ensuring optimal quality across all media types.
