The Tripp Lite medical Ethernet isolator N234-MI-1005 protects staff, patients, and medical devices in the patient environment from hazardous leakage currents that can flow through a copper-based Ethernet network. It effectively isolates medical devices to safeguard patients while still allowing data flow at Gigabit Ethernet speeds.

Complies with IEC 60601-1 for use in the patient environment. The N234-MI-1005 meets the safety standards IEC 60601-1 and EMC/IEC 60601-1-2 for a network connection between a medical device and an Ethernet network or a non-medical device. Since it complies with IEC 60601-1, this medical network isolator can be used in the patient environment. For example, you can use this 60601-1 network isolator in the connection between a clinic's network and the PC of a long-term EEG system. Note: You can only connect network components that comply with IEEE 802.3 or IEEE 802.3ab. You cannot connect telecommunications devices, power supplies, or similar devices.

In-line installation in an Ethernet network. This Ethernet network isolator features two RJ45 ports and acts as a coupler that connects two tested and approved Cat6 cables to complete the connection between compatible medical devices and a computer or data network. Since the cables are detachable, you can replace a faulty cable without having to replace the isolator. This RJ45 isolator is fully plug-and-play capable and requires no software, drivers, or power supply.
