V6 Gold Edition HotEnd Gold Heat Sink

The V6 is one of our proudest achievements. We decided to celebrate the HotEnd that started the modular E3D ecosystem with a Gold Edition. The sink is anodized - not 24 karat - but still has a bling.

Heating Block

In this case, we replaced the aluminum with a coated copper block to improve heat transfer to the filament and reduce the likelihood of filament residue sticking to it. The non-stick properties of the coated copper blocks are advantageous at high printing temperatures, where silicone socks have a shorter lifespan.

Nozzle

The standard brass nozzle has been upgraded to hardened steel. While brass nozzles can wear out and even be ruined by abrasive materials, hardened steel lasts a lifetime. If you are printing with carbon fiber, wood or metal-filled filaments, or even glow-in-the-dark filaments, these nozzles are a must.

Heating Cartridge

The heating cartridges have been upgraded to high-precision quick-release heating cartridges. They feature pinpoint dimensions for greater surface contact and improved electrical specifications for more stable performance. These quick-release connectors allow for easier maintenance and upgradability, enabling the HotEnd to be removed without having to re-route the entire wiring harness.

Fan Duct

A clear, injection-molded plastic fan duct showcases the golden heat sink perfectly.

PTFE Liner

We replaced the standard PTFE liner with high-tolerance Capricorn PTFE tubes. The Capricorn Bowden tube has a tighter diameter and significantly lower friction, allowing for smoother and more precise extrusion.
