AGM batteries are structured differently than open lead-acid batteries. Between the plates is a wafer-thin glass fibre fleece that is soaked in acid/electrolyte. The fleece is packed between the plates and pressed together. This triggers a very fast reaction between the acid and the plates. Because the plates and fleece are tightly packed, vibrations hardly affect this battery.
