AGM batteries are structured differently from open lead-acid batteries. Between the plates is a very thin fiberglass mat that is soaked in acid/electrolyte. This mat is packed and compressed between the plates, resulting in a very rapid reaction between the acid and the plates. Because the plates and mats are tightly packed, vibrations have little effect on this battery.
