Product details

Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) is a synthetic terpolymer and belongs to the thermoplastics category. ABS is widely used in the production of household and consumer products. One of the most well-known products made from ABS is Lego bricks. Currently, we offer 1.75 mm and 3 mm ABS filament. When choosing the filament diameter, please consider the specifications of your 3D printer and the extruder being used. These standard filament sizes are compatible with most common 3D printers; however, some manufacturers may require a proprietary diameter. Whether ABS filament is the best choice for the 3D object you intend to print depends on various factors such as the intended use and the equipment of the 3D printer. Since ABS filament is processed at high temperatures, the 3D printer must be equipped with a heated bed. Cooling is not necessary but can offer advantages. Compared to PLA, ABS filament is more stable and has a higher heat tolerance. However, ABS filament is more prone to warping. If objects printed with ABS filament are subjected to high stress, they may splinter upon breaking. During the extrusion of ABS filament, there is an emission of odor and smoke. Ensure that the printer is located in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling this smoke. Be cautious that there are no individuals sensitive to chemicals, children, or pets present in the room.
