Ducky One 3

The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard was developed to offer the best possible typing experience. It provides gamers and keyboard enthusiasts with a luxurious typing experience thanks to its high-quality finish and short response times. The switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, making them very easy to replace without any soldering. This variant has a full-size form factor, offering the full range of keys, including a numeric keypad, position, and arrow keys. This makes it suitable for both gaming and office applications, though it does require a corresponding amount of space on the desk.

With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy, taking into account four key aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilisers. Almost all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality keycaps made of PBT, a semi-crystalline plastic that is particularly popular with keyboard modders due to its resistance to abrasion. Ducky moulds the keycaps from two layers of plastic to ensure the key lettering remains clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the usual lustre of other plastics caused by intensive use, keeping the keyboard looking like new for a long time.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, together with the three-stage feet, relieves wrist strain. To enhance the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
