The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to provide the best possible typing experience. It offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing feel thanks to its high-quality construction and short response times. The switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, allowing for very easy replacement without soldering. This variant has a full-size layout and includes the entire key set, including a numeric keypad, position keys, and arrow keys. This makes it suitable for both gaming and office applications, but it does require adequate space on the desk.

With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy, which considers four essential aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keys, the housing, the sound, and the stabilizers. Almost all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality PBT keys, a semi-crystalline plastic that is particularly popular among keyboard modders due to its abrasion resistance. Ducky molds the keys from two layers of plastic to ensure that the key labeling remains clearly readable. The keys do not develop the usual shine of other plastics that occurs with intense use, keeping the keyboard looking new for a long time.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, along with the three-stage feet, relieves the wrists. To enhance the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber mixtures and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce Pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard key presses.
