DJTechTools Midi Fighter 3D

The DJ TechTools Midi Fighter 3D is a MIDI controller featuring 4 x 4 arcade buttons. The device is equipped with a tilt sensor, an accelerometer, and a compass, which allow it to register tilts and rotations and convert them into MIDI CC values.

With the DJ TechTools Midi Fighter 3D, you get a controller with 16 buttons that you may recognize from old arcade machines or joysticks. Accordingly, these buttons are extremely durable. There are a total of four banks available (4 illuminated bank buttons), along with six side-mounted shift buttons to expand control options.

Through the configuration software, you can assign one of 20 colors for the backlighting to each button—one for the inactive state and one for the active state. The Midi Fighter 3D offers pre-made mappings for Ableton LIVE, NI Traktor, Serato, and Virtual DJ. Of course, you can also control all other MIDI-compatible programs. It is compatible with Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.6 and later.

All four tilt directions (left, right, forward, or backward) and, thanks to the compass, rotation can be assigned to a specific MIDI CC, with values ranging from 0 to 127 depending on the tilt angle. Additionally, the values are displayed through the gradually filling backlighting of the button rows.
