Product details

Breakout board for the FTDI FT232RL USB-to-Serial IC. The pinout corresponds to standard FTDI cables and works with original Arduinos as well as 3.3V Arduino clones. The adapter can also be used for all other serial applications. This version of the board comes with male headers, and the programming voltage can be switched between 3.3V and 5V via a jumper.

The major advantage of this board is that the DTR pin is brought out instead of the RTS pin. The DTR connection allows the Arduino to be automatically reset during the upload of a sketch. The tedious manual resetting is eliminated, which is especially convenient when no reset button is planned or available in the project.

There is also a power LED, as well as RX and TX LEDs.

Additionally, there is a new 6-pin ISP header. This allows Atmel CPUs and Arduino bootloaders to be programmed using avrdude and the 'avrftdi' programmer. A special version of avrdude with the compiled FTDI drivers is required.

Since we only offer original FT232, the latest anti-fake drivers 2.12 work flawlessly as well.
