Autofocus has been a practical aid for photographers for more than 25 years. Especially when things have to be done quickly, this great invention is invaluable. However, there are downsides; photographers have been complaining for years that the autofocus system can sometimes be inaccurate and unreliable. Consequently, the first step after a photo shoot is often to delete all images where the focus has not been set correctly. This may be due to motion blur, but the most common cause is an autofocus error. This issue is often attributed to the camera selecting the wrong object or focus point, but another possibility is that the autofocus function of the lens could be set incorrectly.

If you photograph a flat object vertically and find that it is not as sharp as it should be, this cause must be considered.
