Product details

This B+W neutral density filter reduces light intensity by three stops (logarithmic density 0.9) while maintaining very good color depth. It is particularly well-suited for use with video cameras when the lens cannot be sufficiently stopped down in bright conditions or when a deliberately shallow depth of field is desired. The filter factor is 8x.

B+W's Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) is an exceptionally effective multi-layer coating that is harder than glass and provides protection against scratches. Additionally, it is water and dirt repellent, making filter maintenance easier.

This filter uses the standard B+W F-Pro filter mount, which features a front accessory thread and is made of brass. Compared to the previous standard mount introduced in 2001, the F-Pro mount is thinner, allowing it to be used with wide-angle lenses, including most 24mm focal lengths on a full-frame camera, without vignetting. Another advantage of the F-Pro mount is the modified retaining ring, which holds the filter glass in place from the back instead of being screwed in from the front. This design prevents the retaining ring from loosening when a filter or lens hood that has been screwed on too tightly is removed.
