The 12V or 18V batteries can be charged while the radio is running on mains power. The GPB 18VH-6 SRC Professional is equipped with a USB port for charging smartphones. It also has a device that makes it easy to remove the 18V battery: simply pull the lever and the battery is unlocked and ejected - no more need to press the red button and fumble the battery out of the compartment.
